Sadly, around my parts our most 'local' FLGS is a couple hours' drive away. (At one point we had an LGS, but without the F it didn't really last long.) But we've started a little local group via Meetup, and I figured I'd host at least an intro game for some folks, in addition to my regular players...

With free RPG day coming up, I figured I'd ask... Got any plans for nifty new stuff or should I be busy reworking Biohazard? ^_^

Also: I've got a few friends who are very committed to 3.5, and by far prefer books to be in touchable format. Aside from trawling teh internets for used copies, is there a way for them to get their hands on the original release, like a print-on-demand still open?

There is nothing being offered for Free RPG day as we don't have the capacity to cheaply print out something in mass quantities without any revenue. That being said, there are plans for a follow up adventure to Biohazard. It is not a sequel but another "inspired by film" adventure. It won't be out for June 18th (as priority is for Evolution), but it will be worked on after.

Is it going to be another movie that I'll be astonished to discover that nobody in my group has seen? (seriously, in a group of six people, four of which are war movie buffs, the only person who'd seen Apocalypse Now was me...)

I'd like to see a 'terrorists take over a cruise ship' scenario myself.

Yes, it should be noted that our non-canon adventures are often inspired by popular movies or games.

Hearts of Chaos -- Apocalypse Now
Biohazard -- Left4Dead

A long delayed full-sized Amethyst adventure we've been working on (being included in Amethyst Factions) is a loving tribute to Expedition to Barrier Peaks

As for the third free downloadable mini-adventures, it will be an alien invasion

I can definitely handle an alien invasion scenario... there's also been plenty of recent media about it (and that upcoming AMC show...) to fuel my imagination.

Still, that's fair enough, I've turned Biohazard into a 2-parter with my regular group (and they are loving it by the way--sadly no amusing arguments about what "containment" meant.) and I'm pretty sure I can do Hearts of Chaos good enough justice come the 18th. Come to think of it, the higher level will give some players more "toys" to goof around with, which i'm sure some folks will like.
