...and no, that is not what I am saying at all.

Evolution is only half Essentials. The first class section is an expansion section that offers alternative class features and powers for the original "traditional" classes.
For example...
ALTERNATE CLASS FEATURES
Instead of gaining the normal class features of a grounder, you can elect to remove a specific feature and replace it with the one listed below.
ACTION STAR
This class feature replaces the Area Denial class feature.
Action Star: Whenever a target you have marked makes an attack that does not include you as a target, you can make a regular ranged basic attack against the target as an immediate interrupt. You also gain action shot as a class power.
ACTION SHOT Grounder Class Feature
You are the most important target and you make your opponent know that.
At-Will * Martial, Weapon
Move Action Ranged weapon
Target: One creature
Attack: Dexterity vs. AC. You cannot score a critical hit.
Hit: 1[W] damage. Increase damage to 2[W] at 21st level.
Effect: The target is marked until the end of your next turn.
Auto Weapon: The target suffers an additional -1 penalty with attacks that don't include you as a target.
So you can see what I was talking about. This is not an Essential concept. In fact, it's almost exactly what you were suggesting in your blog. Like minds think alike...

There are lot more, for grounder and ALL the classes. I really need to post a preview of this so people stop thinking Evolution is JUST Essentials. I keep saying to people that less than half the book is dedicated to Essentials, but it seems like that's what everyone thinks.
All our alternative features and feats are designed to emphasize one of the two roles of a class. So the grounder ALSO has abilities to increase his controller role as well.
I hope that helps...
