So this begs the question, how does this affect future products from DEM? I understand that you may not want to commit to development of new 4e Amethyst products without knowing if 4e will have enough of a fanbase remaining to support that, but what about Ultramodern4, seeing as how most of the work on that is already done? I would guess that this wouldn't affect PF productions, if anything they are probably the best audience to cater to at the moment.

Do you have any idea what the likelihood of creating 5e products would be? It is a bit early, of course, and you naturally can't start without seeing the final mechanics, but is there at least interest in doing this or are you getting too jaded by WotC? I noticed that in the entire run of 4e there was really nothing that filled the same niche as Ultramodern4 or Amethyst, and I would say there is a good chance that 5e doesn't venture into that territory at all or at least 5 years or so into the run, assuming 5e is turning a good profit and they have the flexibility to experiment with other things.

The fire to finish U4 has just escalated to a blowtorch under the people I depend on.

Renaissance continues to move at a fast pace.

The future of DEM in regards to 5E will depend on many things, most of which I cannot talk about yet.

I, for one, still intend to purchase Ultramodern if it is similar in quality to Amethyst. I don't care if Ultramodern does not match what will be the current D&D ruleset; what I care about is having a modern ruleset that seems familiar to veteran d20 players and retains the mechanical improvements seen in 4e. The fact that it may be years (if ever) before Wizards or anyone else produces a d&dnext ruleset for modern games just clinches the deal.

And let's be honest here folks. 5th Edition is probably still a year away (or more). Ultramodern will be on the shelves WELL before that.

Good to hear, although I guessed that would be the case. Bigger question, what about Neurospasta? Is that in the same phase as Ultramodern4 or is that a separate animal that might not see completion between U4, Renaissance, and 5e?

I really hope I can release NeuroSpasta before 5E, but that will depend on the sucess of Ultramodern4. I could also release it for 4E and then wait until 5E to release it again for that system. I am still comitted to completing that project given I have a $500 unused front cover.

I suppose that would be good motivation.

Well, I'm still eagerly anticipating UM4 (and NS). Its been a long time since I tried some Modern, and d20 Modern just takes too much work to whip it into shape.
