One thing I would highly suggest is to make sure you read it through several times so you have the order of events correct. I made the mistake of having the Kid reveal that he was infected much too early. The game still went alright but it could have gone better.

You know what, I must be an idiot because I am having a terrible time deciphering things in the 4e format. I know some of my problem is some of my books are in PDF format but power formats for instance don't make sense and Im guessing it is because I don't know all the mechanics of how 4e works so I am getting only half the story.

Sigh

Ok somethings are making more sense as I pour slowly through text. Gonna toss out some questions because I am a details kinda person and like to have the full picture.

I did decide to rewrite the Pre-gens so they use the Essentials classes from Evolution. Question: Why does the Marshal have only one alternate essentials style class. Prolly more questions as I go but I am going section by section rewriting etc.

Ok, nother question.

Techan's being humans or should I say humans in Amethyst get all the benefits from 4e correct? Such as the Extra At-Will power, Bonus feat etc?

Depends...

If using original 4E, then yes, humans gain 1 extra at-will. However, when 4E went through its BIG errata to accommodate Essentials, they changed human. So make sure you have the "right" human. Check the official D&D errata for that.

Yes, one of the humorous aspects of the Amethyst Errata was that some of it occurred to accommodate the D&D errata.

As for the Marshal, I decided that the two marshal builds were too similar to warrant splitting. When we created the old 4E classes for Foundations, all the classes had two distinctive builds except the Marshall, so it made sense not to make two when we made Evolution.

So what you are saying is you used Essentials style human? I just DLed the Errata from the WoTC website and going to look through my essentials books. The game is in 3 days and I'm cramming up a storm so I am prepared!

Well, my group's characters predate the errata. However, if you use Essentials characters, you should absolutely use the later human. The reason is obvious: Most Essentials classes don't have at-wills, so offering humans three makes no sense.

The Essential classes in Evolution still have there powers described as "At-Will or Daily etc" am I missing something? Sorry if this gets annoying but I am attempting to power learn 4e by Sunday lol.

Otherwise the comment about using the essential human makes perfect sense.
